Himakshi Kalita was born in Polakhbari, Guwahati, to Bishnu Kalita and Jurimoni Devi. Her date of birth is 31st August 1998. She has a younger brother. Himakshi's mother called her as Muku and father called her as Mona.

She did her schooling from St. Marys H.S School, Guwahati. After passing HSLC examination (10th class) she took arts stream in 11th and 12th. She gave her Higher Secondary Exam from St. Marys H.S School, Guwahati. Now, she is pursuing a B.A degree from Handique Girls College, Guwahati.

Career information :

She has begun her acting career at a small age and it was a sudden incident. She first went for a Bihu competition with her Bihu group. Suddenly, the director of a drama team saw her and asked her to do a small role. But, the director was so impressed by her acting so he gave her the main role. Then later on the drama was performed in Delhi. It was a Hindi drama and Himakshi won the 'National Best Actress Award' in 2012 at Dehradun. From that day she began her acting career.

Himakshi have also won the many titles like Miss Telegraph Assam, Miss Nikon DY365 and runner up for Miss Sanskriti. She has been part of many fashion shows, music videos, short films and dramas. She was also working as the brand ambassador of Sunshine Academy of Makeup and Styling Northeast.

Himakshi’s first appearance in front of the camera happened in a music video shoot titled “Boroxa Mukhor Xondhiya”. The singer of that song was Arjyaneel and directed by Bappa Ahmed.
